FULL MOON PUPPET SHOW WORKSHOP: Solo Shows with Objects

Two Part Workshop: Dec. 17 - 18, 2022

In this two-part class taught by Vanessa Valliere, we will discuss different sources of inspiration for generating new material for solo shows, with emphasis on the use of music and objects in the creation process. In the first session, we will try out some basic generating exercises and we will also consider the particular challenges that come up when creating solo work. Students will be given a prompt and asked to bring in a very short and simple piece of their own devising to the second session. The emphasis will be less on creating a shiny finished presentation and more investigating the process of making it. The class is open to people who are brand new to the process of making solo work as well as experienced creators who are looking for new ideas.
