Materials:

  • If anything is hard to get we can work around it. But these will give you the most to play with:

  • Box board (non-corrugated cardboard from things like cereal boxes)

  • Cardstock (such as typical office cardstock at 65# but any is fine)

  • Wire (20, 22, 0r 24 gauge)

  • Wire cutters

  • Pliers (that can grip the wire, like needle nose)

  • String, cord, or twine

  • Rubber bands

  • Straws (paper are best, plastic if you have them around already)

  • Wood skewers (sold in packs in grocery stores)

  • Cutting tools (scissors and/or craft knife)

  • Tape (masking or blue painter's)

  • Cutting mat (if using craft knife. You can use cardboard but it will dull knives faster.)

  • Stack of corrugated cardboard sheets (to use as a pin board for prototyping)

  • Thumbtacks and pushpins (2 different types have different advantages in prototyping)

  • Mini brads (smallest you can find. Also called split pins, found in scrapbooking departments. Not required but a bonus for fast prototyping. )

  • Flat clear plastic scraps (from packaging like spinach containers. Or clear packing tape.)

  • Glue gun (always handy and fast in workshops, but not necessary)
