FULL MOON PUPPET SHOW WORKSHOP: 3D Mixed Media Puppet Painting
Create a simple form in the first half of this 2-part class or work on an existing project for the full 3 hours. Let’s get some paint on those puppets!
We will go over materials, layering processes and how to paint on different three dimensional surfaces depending on your puppet medium of choice.
Explore brush techniques, texturing, color mixing, and fine detail work to bring life into your puppets!

Gesso/primer
Acrylic gloss medium and matter medium
Spray matte finish
Acrylic paint (white, magenta, yellow, cyan, burnt umber, black plus embellishing color if desired like gold)
Brushes – small, medium, and large
Water jar
Paper for stencils
Foam for stamp making

Teaching Artist Bio
Sarah Eaton has her BFA in intermedia and her MFA in craft and has taught art to every age and in multiple disciplines and media for 20 years. She has painted puppets for Disney, Universal, Wynn Casino and Cirques du Soleil through Michael Curry Design and has painted as a Scenic Artist for Shadow Machine, painting miniature sets and props for stop motion (GDT's Pinocchio, In the Know, Tiny Chef S2). She believes in independent based learning, material exploration and empowering her students through choice and gentle encouragement.
